Why

This utopian urban design concept project aimed to envision future cities that address the pressing issues of environmental sustainability and urbanization. By acknowledging the long-term impact of buildings on the environment, the project sought to reimagine architecture as a polemical medium that could bring about radical changes in urban development. The focus was on creating cities that harmoniously integrate with nature, emphasizing water efficiency, wildlife preservation, energy efficiency, and biophilic architecture.

What

The project utilized a holistic approach, incorporating elements such as bio-retention, biomimicry, and modular zones to design future cities. By integrating wildlife and greens into the urban fabric and promoting intra-zonal development, the design aimed to create a sustainable environment that coexisted with nature. Energy efficiency and economic equality were also key considerations, ensuring that the cities provided a high quality of life for all residents while minimizing the ecological impact.

How

The Urban Grassland concept envisioned a future city for Bhopal that embraced the principles of bio-retention, wildlife integration, and biophilic architecture. By emphasizing energy efficiency and economic equality, the design sought to create a city where humans and nature coexist harmoniously. The project aimed to pave the way for a radical transformation in urbanization, considering the alarming rate of natural resource depletion and the challenges posed by rapid urbanization and climate change.
